Throughout the course of this project, I was trying to incorporate the theme "Journey." I feel that I was very effective at addressing the theme "Journey." I achieved this by creating a boat facing the right page of the book. The piece of paper under the boat on the left page shows an uncivilized area and the right page shows a civilized harbor area to emphasize the change in landscape from the "Journey." I really like how there is color on the boat and not on the paper because it really emphasizes the boat to the naked eye. I could improve some minor details on my boat, such as making every piece of paper the exact height and width as the other. For example, one side of the boat is a little taller than another side (but it's not really noticeable.)
Some cool things about my sculpture that might be hard to notice.
1) I tried to show movement with the smoke coming from the top of the boat.
2) My boat starts off on land like all boats do and ends in the water like a boat usually does.
3) It looks like there is a wake coming from the back of the boat (the grass emphasizes the wake.)
4) There are more pages on the left side of the book to represent all of the memories one has before going on a "Journey."
